How to Prepare Your Car for Spring

Believe it or not, March is already here and the winter freeze is about to come to an end. Although spring does not officially begin until March 20, you can get a head start on the season by getting your vehicle ready for warmer weather. Winter tends to take a toll on vehicles in the Columbia, MD area, and here at our Mazda service center, our team of experienced mechanics is ready to get your vehicle ready for spring. Here are some things you can do, as well as some things that we’ll do when you bring your car in to get serviced.

Car Wash: All the winter salt and road grime can accumulate on your vehicle, both on the surface and on the undercarriage. A thorough cleaning of your vehicle will help to prevent rust and dirt build-up, prolonging its life.

Tire Rotation and Inspection: The rapid change in temperatures during this time of year can affect the tire pressure of your 2019 Mazda CX-5 or other Mazda vehicle. Additionally, rotating your vehicle’s tires ensures safer wearing and will get the best life of your tires. Our mechanics will also monitor tire tread and make sure that they are not balding, in order to achieve top performance.

Windshield Wiper Check: Windshield wipers can take a lot of abuse during the winter. It is best to change your wipers as the seasons change, especially as spring tends to bring a lot of rain.

Fluid Check: As we move into the summer, our mechanics will also be sure to check out your vehicle’s essential fluids, such as brake fluid, engine oil, and windshield wiper fluid.
