With all the excitement surrounding new Mazda SUVs like the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-9, it can be easy to forget that the Japanese automaker is also known for its cutting-edge sedans and hatchbacks. For a long time now, one of the best-reviewed and most well-liked Mazda car was the Mazda3. Now that the 2016 model of the Mazda3 has arrived here at our Mazda dealership serving Towson, we can confidently say that this car builds on the tradition laid down by previous iterations of the Mazda3.
For
drivers unfamiliar with the Mazda3, it is available in both
four-door sedan and hatchback body styles. Both of these are
available in 3i and 3s models that are further broken down into
different trims. The 3i models are powered by a zippy 2.0-liter
four-cylinder engine that is good for 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of
torque. This engine drives the front wheels through either a
six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic.
Drivers will also be happy to hear that the car gets 34 miles per
gallon combined with the automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 3s
gets a more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out
184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque.
The
cabin of the 2016 Mazda3 is
filled with both comfort-focused and high-tech features. Even the
base Sport trim comes loaded with Bluetooth phone and audio
connectivity, voice controls, and a 7-inch touchscreen display with
knob-based controller. On the entertainment front, the car comes
standard with a six-speaker sound system with a USB port, an
auxiliary input, HD radio, and smartphone-enabled Internet radio.
