If you’ve paid close attention to Mazda vehicles in the past decade, you’ll know that Mazda is not an automaker to sit on its laurels and release the same vehicles year after year with minimal improvements. Instead, Mazda is dedicated to improving on its technologies and delivering a better driver experience year after year. Nowhere is this philosophy more evident than in the new and improved 2017 Mazda3 and 2017 Mazda6, two vehicles that are excellent picks for Columbia, MD-area drivers looking for a reliable, safe, and feature-filled sedan.

The biggest and most publicized improvement for both the 2017 Mazda3 and the 2017 Mazda6 is the addition of G-Vectoring Control, or GVC. What GVC does is it improves steering feel and response by very small reductions in engine torque as a driver turns into a corner. This results in a weight shift to the front wheels, improving traction, especially in slippery conditions. Related to the GVC system, the 2017 Mazda3 and the 2017 Mazda6 also see improvements in noise reduction, vibration, and harshness, as well as thicker glass added for sound insulation materials.

GVC is far from the only improvements found on these two much-loved Mazda vehicles. The i-ACTIVESENSE® suite of safety technologies also gets a big upgrade for 2017. A concerted effort was made to strengthen the recognition support that is a core feature of i-ACTIVESENSE®, and now the vehicles come standard with a new Traffic Sign Recognition System, which automatically recognizes road signs and informs the driver of their significance. Also, there are now standard LED headlights, and Smart Brake Support has been expanded.

Head on over to the newly-renamed Heritage Mazda Catonsville to test drive the 2017 Mazda6.
