Fall is undoubtedly beautiful in Baltimore, MD. However, it also means harsher weather is approaching and, unfortunately, tricky driving conditions. We encourage you to schedule Mazda maintenance at Heritage Mazda Catonsville, where we’ll perform the following service checks.

Inspect Your Brakes

When it comes to your safety, good brakes are essential. They’re especially crucial as the falling leaves start to reduce traction on city streets. It’s time to inspect your brakes and replace your brake pads, if necessary.

Check Your Tires

Good tires are also crucial to keep you in command on the road. Your tires should have at least a 4/32-inch tread for the grip you need. As the winter months approach, we recommend that you increase that minimum to 6/32 of an inch.

Examine Your Lights

As daylight savings time ends, you may find yourself driving in the dark a lot more often. People also often have limited visibility in the fall and winter due to fog, sleet, and snow. Check to make sure that your lights and turn signals are all working.

Replace Your Windshield Wipers

It’s also important to have windshield wipers that can completely clear your windshield without leaving any streaks behind. We recommend replacing your windshield wipers before those icy mornings start. Make sure to top off your windshield wiper fluid too.

Test Your Battery

As the cold weather sets in, you may discover that your vehicle is sluggish to start. The cold weather can diminish your battery’s performance. It’s important to have yours tested to make sure that the cold won’t be an issue.
